Both Venezia and Empoli will be looking to put an end to their winless runs in the Serie a when they lock horns at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Venezia enjoyed a bit of impressive start to their life back in the top-flight following a two decade absence. However, the Arancioneroverdi have been in a poor run of form recently with club failing to win in their last seven straight Serie A matches and are coming off a 3-0 defeat to the Rampant Ac Milan in their last league fixture on Sunday.
The defeat marked their 11th loss this season and saw them drop to the 17th position with just one point above the relegation zone.
Therefore heading into the match manager Paolo Zanetti will be under massive pressure to get the three points in this fixture against fellow newly promoted side as they desperately try to evade an immediate return to the Serie B.
Meanwhile Empoli despite being on and off this season, will be happy of what they have been able to achieve so far this season, with the club currently sitting in the 11th position on 28 points, just two outside the top six.
However, the Azzurri head into the match in a poor form having won none of their last four matches in the Serie A, recording two defeats and two draws in the run and are coming off a 5-1 humbling defeat at home against Sassuolo last Sunday.
Therefore they will be looking to quickly get over it with a win in the Sunday’s clash where they will fancy their chances basing on their recent away form as they have not lost in their last five matches on the road.
