Union Berlin welcome Bochum to Stadion An der Alten Forterei for their 2021/22 Bundesliga final tie on Saturday evening with kickoff at 16:30.
Union berlin have been impressive this season with the side recording 15 victories, nine draws and nine defeats from their 33 matches so far, to collect 54 points which have left them siting in the sixth place in the Bundesliga standings.
They are holding the last European spot in the standings going into the final game but they are just two points above the seventh-placed Koln. The goal difference between the two is only a +1 in favor of Union Berlin and thus a point could be enough to get them to the Europa Conference League next season. But if Koln win their match with more than two goals, Berlins sixth-finish will be in jeopardy.
The Irons Ones will therefore be looking for all three points to seal their European-finish and three points on the weekend could leave them in top four if both RB Leipzig and Freiburg would drop their points. Berlin have won five and drawn one of their last six Bundesliga matches and are coming off a 4-1 win over Freiburg, thus, they should be confident heading into the clash.
Meanwhile, despite sitting in the bottom half, Bochum have made an impressive campaign this season with the side recording 12 victories, six draws and 15 defeats to collect 42 points which have left them sitting 11th in the standings 12 points clear of relegation zone.
This is impressive for a side that was promoted to the Bundesliga this season. They head into the match in good mood having won their last two league matches over Borussia Dortmund (3-4) and Bielefeld (2-1) and will be looking to add another victory as they seek to end the campaign in a high.
