Ukraine and Austria face off in what will be expected to be an exciting clash in their third and final match in Group C of the Euro 2020 at National Arena Bucharest on Monday with kickoff at 19:00.
Both Ukraine and Austria have three points in the group standings and will head into the match after both taking points off North Macedonia and losing to Netherlands in their opening two matches. Hence it will be ideal that a draw might be the end result although some might fancy that Ukraine might be the favorites in the Monday’s clash. However, a draw will be enough for them to proceed.
Ukraine displayed a wonderful match against Netherland as they came from 2-0 to level up 2-2 although a late goal from Denzel Dumfries helped the Netherlands salvage all the three points. Ukraine went ahead and displayed yet another good match against North Macedonia this time managing to emerge triumphant with a 2-1 win. However, even though they were above their class in both matches they also displayed some sloppiness that costed them a point in the Netherlands game and allowed arguably the weakest side in tournament North Macedonia to press them score a goal.
Therefore, it calls upon Andriy Shevchenko to set his side in a more cautious manner in order to be able to salvage something in this game as they look to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.
Meanwhile Austria will not be comfortable fancying a draw when they head into this match as it would be a riskier strategy for them since that will mean that they would be hoping to advance to the knockout stage as one of the four best third-placed teams.
