Troyes will be hoping to widen the gap between them and the relegation zone when they welcome Reims to Stade de I’Aube for their Ligue 1 Matchday 30 tie on Sunday evening with kickoff at 16:00 EAT.
Troyes have endured a difficult campaign in their first season back in the French top-tier. For most of the campaign Troyes have looked to be on the way for an immediate return to the Ligue 2, but they have recently put together their best run of the season, going unbeaten in their last four games.
They fist drew 1-1 with the high-flying Marseille, before claiming back-to-back victories against Bordeaux 0-2 and Nantes 1-0. That was then followed by another 1-1 with Saint-Etienne in their previous Ligue 1 fixture at home prior to the international break.
As result Troyes now sit two points above the relegation zone in the 15th spot and will be keen to increase the gap with another positive result on Sunday. They will be confident of claiming crucial points against Reims this weekend as they have won five and drawn two of their last eight meetings against them in all competition, including the 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
On other hand, Reims extended their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five matches last time out when they played out a 0-0 draw against Lyon before the international break. The run that has seen them claim two wins and three draws has seen them climb into the 12th spot in the league standings with now six points keeping them outside the top-half of the table.
They will therefore be looking to extend their unbeaten run as they look to get closer to the top 10. Their away record could prove to be crucial in boosting their confidence heading to Stade de I’Aube. They have only lost two of their last 10 away league matches and will want to maintain the run.
However, they have failed to win at Stade de I’Aube in their last five visits and with their hosts fight for their survival it will be challenging for Oscor Garcia’s to claim points here.
