Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action after missing out for two weeks due to Covi-19 outbreak at their camp when they host the high-flying Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday night with kickoff at 19:30.
It has been strange experience for Tottenham to have two weeks off during what is usually the busiest period of the Premier League as they seen their last three games in all competitions postponed due to outbreaks and only time will tell if that was beneficial or not when Liverpool come calling.
The last time Spurs were in action they overcame Norwich City with a 3-0 success with goals from Lucas Moura, Davidson Sanchez and Son Heung-min sealing their third Premier League win and a win on Sunday will see them string together four on the bounce for the first time since July 2020.
Despite all the disruptions Tottenham still occupy a place in the top half seventh spot on 25 points with just four points behind the fourth-placed Arsenal with three matches in hand.
Meanwhile Liverpool have been flying high this season and they head into the match on the back of an eight-match winning streak in all competitions. they currently sit in the second place in the Premier League standings on 40 points only a points behind the leader Man City and three above the third-placed Chelsea.
They are coming off a 3-1 Premier League success against the struggling Newcastle a match that the Reds played with some notable absentees due to Covid-19. Players like Virgil van Dijk, Curtis Jones and Fabinho were missing in the midweek and also set to be out here too.
With Tottenham being well rested and Liverpool making mincemeat of their opponents recently this will be an exciting contest with both sides aiming for the three points.
