Torino will be heading into Sunday’s Serie A fixture against Bologna looking for a victory that will move them to within touching distance of the mid-table positions.
II Toro are currently sitting five points adrift of their ninth-placed opponents, will need a victory to re-enter the race for the European spots.
Torino have had somewhat a slow moving season thus far, with their big positive being their defensive record which is the fourth-best in the division.
However, manager Ivan Juric would have expected a much better performance from his squad, who are sitting in 13th position in the table after three games without a victory.
Ivan Juric’s side led in both of their most recent fixtures with Empoli and Cagliari, and losing advantages in favourable fixtures has denied them a place in the top ten.
They are expected to be facing tougher fixtures which are to come over the Christmas and New Year period, increasing the pressure ahead of a fixture against opponents who they will regard as rivals for the seventh position.
Impressively, more than one player has scored more than once during the last seven fixtures, a trio of players currently being at the top of the charts with three goals each.
Bologna have been among the surprise packages of the season, epecially recently having recorded four victories over a five-game period.
However, their 3-2 loss to Fiorentina at home last weekend has reduced their hopes in the race for European qualification, Bologna now following their most recent opponents, who are sixth, by three points.
Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side have some tough fixtures ahead of them, most escpecially Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli, which increases pressure ahead of this encounter.
Despite scoring just seven goals in their away games this season, Bologna are on a two-match winning run on their outings, recording victories over Sampdoria and Spezia respectivley.

Torino news
Daniele Baseli is the most likely option for Torino’s central midfield, having replaced Tommaso Pobega at half time against Cagliari. Ricardo Rodriguez may feature on the left side of the back three, while Wilfred Stephane Singo may be recalled on the right wing after serving a suspension.
Bologna news
Aaron Hickey is most likely to return at the left wing-back for Bologna, having impressed as a sustitute last weekend against Fiorentina. Marko Arnuatovic has been sidelined by a hamstring injury and this game may be too soon for him, while Nicolas Dominguez will miss out through five yellow cards.
Prediction and Odds
Torino are heading into this fixture with the advantage of playing at home, but we expect them to get a challenge from the visitors.
However, Bologna have been struggling on the road and we expect this one to be no different, giving this game a chance of ending level. We predict a draw or home win.
