Round 25 of the Portuguese Primeira Liga will see two bottom-of-the-table teams clash when Tondela welcome Belenenses to the Estadio Joao Cardoso on Monday.
The hosts head into the game fresh off the back of a Taca de Portugal first-leg victory over Mafra, while Belenenses will be looking to end their two-game losing run.
Tondela are now 90 minutes away from a spot in the final of the Taca de Portugal after securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Segunda Liga outfit Mafra in the first leg of their semi-final clash last Thursday.
They now turn their attention on the Primeira Liga where they are currently on a run of four consecutive defeats, while managing just two victories from their last nine matches since the turn of the year.
This poor run has been due to their struggles at the defensive end of the pitch where they failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 16 games, conceding 31 goals since a 2-0 win over Belenenses in Octorber’s reverse fixture.
Meanwhile, Belenenses failed to return to winning ways last time out when they went down to a 2-0 defeat against Pacos de Ferreira at home.
In the match at the Estadio Nacional do Jamor, Denilson and Helder Ferreira scored in either side of half time to hand the visitors a second consecutive league win for the first time since last December.
While Franclim Carvalho’s side will be seeking to end their dry spell, they have struggled to get going on the road, where they are yet to win and currently have the division’s poorest record with just four points from 12 away matches.
However, they will fancy their chances of a positive result against Tondela at the Estadio Joao Cardoso, where they have won each of their three most recent visits.

Tondela news
Ayestaran is likely to name a similar side that started against Mafra, with Daniel dos Anjos and Rafael Barbosa spearheading the attack once again.
Pedro Augusto, Sessi D’Almeida, Borges, Bebeto and Dantas should line up in midfield in front of a back three of Ricardo Alves, Eduardo Quaresma and Manu.
Belenenses news
Belenenses will have to do with the absence of Nilton Varela after the defender came off injured against Sporting Lisbon on February 2.
Rafael Camacho is absent as he has been sidelined since December through a muscle injury, and he is joined by Thibang Phete, who sustained an injury against Gil Vicente.
Prediction and Odds
Following a dominant cup win, Tondela enter Monday’s game with confidence as they seek to move out of the relegation places.
However, this is an important game for both sides, and with Belenenses seeking to improve their away form, we see the two settling for a draw to share points.
