This Sunday, September 5, 2021, the matches of the 2nd round of the second stage of the African selection for the 2022 World Cup will take place at Stade de Kegue as Togo host Namibia.
Togo will be looking to bounce back from the defeat against Senegal at the Stade Lat Dior on Wednesday as the match ended with 2-0 from the second half. Togo have only qualified to the world only once and they started the campaign to the second world cup championship on a low foot.
Togo come into this match with the need to recover as they meet Namibia for the first time ever and having had to manage a score in the last five home matches, the hosts will be confident to take a shot to the Namibia’s net.
On other hand, Namibia opened the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Congo DR at the independence stadium on Thursday. Ricardo Mannetti’s men have lost just one of their last eight outings across all competitions which was a 1-0 defeat to Mozambique in the COSAFA Cup.
The visitors being held to a stalemate in their opening qualifier are also in search of all three points to put some early daylight between them and their hosts. The Brave Warriors are set for a more productive campaign this time around after finishing at the bottom in the qualification group both in 2010 and 2014.
