Saudi Arabia welcome Australia to the King Abdulla Sports City in Jeddah for their final FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday night with kickoff at 21:00.
Despite drawing 1-1 with a struggling China last Thursday in their previous Group B match, Saudi Arabia managed to seal a place in the World Cup finals in Qatar later this year as their Tuesday visitors, Australia, succumbed to 2-0 defeat to Japan on the same day.
As result the Green Falcons increased their lead over the Australians to five points with just a game remaining to go. They now sit a point behind Japan at the summit of the table with 20 points from nine matches.
The Middle Eastern outfit will therefore be looking to end their campaign in a positive note as they hope to finish at the top of the pile.
As for Australia all is not lost as they are still in the playoff and no-matter the Socceroos will play in the playoff with whoever finishes third in Group A.
They will be hoping to take as much momentum as possible into the playoff, which is why they shall be looking to the group stage with a victory against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
