Both Sudan and Congo DR will be looking to claim their first wins on the second ask in Group I of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers when they face off at the Stade de I’Amitie on Wednesday night.
Sudan went down 3-0 to Mauritania in their opening day on Saturday at the Stade de la Capitale. They have now failed to win in any of their last 16 games across all competitions, picking six draws, while suffering 10 defeats in the run.
However, Sudan will fancy their chances of snapping the poor run and get their qualifying campaign up and running as they will be welcoming Congo DR home, where they have won each of their three AFCON qualifying games.
Meanwhile Congo DR suffered a 1-0 defeat to Gabon in their opener last Saturday, with Shavy Warren Babicka sealing the deal for Gabon. The Leopards have now failed to win any of their last four outings, suffering three defeats and drawing one.
Therefore, they will also be looking to end their slump and get their qualifying campaign up and running, although they have a poor away form, having won just one of their last seven games across all competitions on the road.
