Two European hopefuls in the Ligue will go head-to-head as Strasbourg welcome Lens to Stade de la Meinau for their league Matchday 30 tie on Sunday afternoon with kickoff at 14:00 EAT.
Strasbourg have made a good campaign this season and they are hoping for European football next season. They head into the match in a fine Ligue 1 form as they have only lost one of their last 11 league matches a run that has them sitting fifth in the standings, five points behind the second-placed Marseille.
However, with four draws from their last five league matches, head coach Julien Stephan will feel his side has subsequently missed the opportunity to climb into the Champions League places. But being unbeaten in their last see matches is an impressive run for the Racers and will need to extend the run to keep their European hopes alive.
Meanwhile Lens have had an inconsistent campaign this season, with the side recording 12 victories, eight draws and nine defeats from their 29 matches to collect 44 points, which have left them sitting in the eight-place.
However, three victories and two draws from their last six Ligue 1 matches has seen Lens reduce the gap between themselves and the European places to just four points. They are now European hopefuls something they will give everything to achieve.
They head into the match in a good mood as they claimed a 3-1 win over Clermont Foot prior to the international break. The victory saw them bounce back from two winless matches and will now be looking to make it back-to-back victories to boost their European bid.
Les Sang et Or will be confident heading into the match as they have only lost to Strasbourg once at Stade de la Meinau and claimed a 2-1 victory on their last visit. They will want to maintain the form and perhaps boost their confidence ahead of challenging fixtures against Nice, Lille and PSG.
