Stoke City will be looking to continue their excellent run this Wednesday as they host Barnsley in the Bet365 Stadium to make it six consecutive home wins in all competitions this season.
Stoke City have had an impressive start in the campaign this season with their six games giving four victories and having lost only one match against the position two so far, Fulham in the away visit but they have points at level with only a goal difference setting them apart.
Michael O’Neill’s side go to this game off the back of a 2-1 win against Huddersfield last time out and are confident to make it to win four consecutive home league games and will try to find the net once again against Barnsley having scored six goals in their last 3 home matches.
Barnsley on the other hand, have been on the wrong end this season at far having won only once across all the season’s competitions. Barnsley’s start to the season has failed to match last season’s form that saw the Tykes finish fifth, which had them secure a playoff place.
Markus Schopp’s side is currently 17th in the league and will be going into this match from a 3-0 loss against Scott Parker’s Bournemouth last weekend the match ending without a single shot on or off target or even a corner at the Vitality Stadium. Barnsley have also failed to collect a league win on the road this season so far.
The visitors however, won a match against the opponents at home early this year in February with the 2-0 victory which will boost their confidence ahead of this match.
