St Mirren vs Celtic Match Analysis and Prediction

Celtic will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the 2022/23 Premiership campaign when they visit St Mirren for their Matchday Eight tie on Sunday.

Celtic have made a perfect start to the new Premiership campaign as the have won all their six games and currently sit at the top of the league five points above close rivals Rangers.

However, they have failed to reflect that form in their European endeavors, having failed to win their opening two Champions League matches in Group F. They suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Real Madrid before drawing 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk at away.

The to beat Madrid was indeed a big ask of Celtic, but they will be kicking themselves for having missed out on maximum points in their second match as they dominated the Ukrainians for most of the tie.

Back to the Premiership Celtic will be looking to bounce back and maintain their blameless Premiership campaign, as they desperately want to head into the international break with their five-point lead at the top intact.

St Mirren, meanwhile, will be looking to capitalize on any European hangover as they seek to extend their decent start to the Premiership campaign.

They are however coming off a 3-0 defeat to St Johnstone at away in their previous league fixture, which ended their three-match winning streak. They have now won three and lost three of their opening six matches and will be looking to bounce back on Saturday.

They have only won once against Celtic in their last 21 Premiership matches, while suffering 18 defeats in the process and thus it will take a lot to beat them on Saturday.
