Roma will be looking to extend their winning ways in the pre-season when they take on Sporting Lisbon at Estadio Algarve on Tuesday night.
Both Sporting Lisbon and Roma have played two pre-season matches so far with Sporting recording back-to-back 1-1 draws against Union Gilloise and Villarreal, while the Italians picked up 2-0 victories against Sunderland and Portimonense.
Sporting will wind up their preseason with the Tuesday’s clash, before opening their 2022/23 Primeira Liga campaign at away on August 7. They finished second in the Primeira Liga with 85 points on board last season, securing a place in the group stage of the Champions League. Their target next season will be to claim the league title and have a long successful European run.
Meanwhile Roma will take on Sporting, Nice and Tottenham in their remaining pre-season matches before opening their 2022/23 Serie A campaign at away against Salernitana. Jose Mourinho’s side did a difficult league campaign last season finishing only sixth.
However, they clinched the first ever Europa Conference League title, which booked them an automatic place in the Europa League. They will be targeting a more successful Serie A campaign next season and Mourinho will definitely want another European title.
