Spezia vs Inter Milan Match Analysis and Prediction

Inter Milan will be hoping to get back to the summit of Serie A when travel to Stadio Alberto Picco to take on Spezia in their league Matchday 33 tie on Friday night with kickoff at 20:00 EAT.

Spezia were involved in a relegation battle last season, but they managed to remain in the top flight with six points and three places above the drop zone. They find themselves near the relegation zone once again following another minimal campaign this season. The Eagles have only managed to claim nine wins from 32 matches and are languishing in the 15^th place with only 33 points.

However, seven points from their last four matches has seen them move nine points off the danger zone, although they have played one match more than the 18^th-placed Venezia. With only six matches remaining to the end of the campaign Spezia need to continue picking up points to seal their survival.

Meanwhile Inter are fighting to defend the Serie A title and their hopes to retain the Scudetto were boosted last time out as they edged out Verona 2-0 at San Siro last weekend. They have now claimed back-to-back victories in Serie A, a run that has seen them take advantage of city rivals AC Milan dropping points in their back-to-back draws.

Inter are now second in the league standings with just two points behind Milan and a game in hand. With the league in its final straight Inter will aim to continue their winning streak as they hope to get back on top of the league or at least stay close to the summit.

They will fancy their chances on Friday as they are currently on a good run having gone unbeaten in their last six league matches and have only lost one of their 15 away encounters this season, claiming eight victories in the run. Also, they are unbeaten against Spezia and claimed a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
