Spezia vs Empoli Match Analysis and Prediction

Empoli will be looking to extend their winning streak to four matches across all competitions when they visit Stadio Alberto Picco to face a struggling Spezia, who will be looking to put an end to their dreadful spell, in an important Serie A fixture on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00.

Spezia have been in shambles this season with club claiming just three wins in their 17 league matches, drawing three while suffering 11 defeats in the process. They currently sit in the 17^th place just a place an two points above the relegation zone.

They head into the match in a poor form as they have not won in any of their last six matches across all competitions picking up just ne draw in the run while suffering five defeats. They are coming off back-to-back defeats against Roma in the Serie A and Lecce in the Coppa Italia on Thursday. The defeat to Lecce saw them crush out of the League Cup in the second round.

This is an important fixture for Spezia who desperately need the three points to remain outside of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile Empoli have been impressive in their first top-flight campaign on their return, recording eight wins, two draws and seven defeats from their 17 league matches to collect 26 points which have left them sitting in the ninth spot with just two points outside the European places.

For a newly-promoted side it has been a tremendous effort thus far and they head into the match in a good run of form having just lost one of their last six matches in all competitions and are coming off a three-match winning streak against Empoli and Napoli in the Serie A and Verona in the Coppa Italia.

Aurelio Andreazzoli’s side will be pushing for a win in this match as they aim at keeping the momentum going and with just four points adrift of the top five Empoli will see this as a must win fixture, adding more pressure to the clash.
