South Korea vs Brazil Match Analysis and Prediction

Brazil will be playing their first international friendly since the end of 2019 on Thursday, with Selecao taking on South Korea at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Both national teams have qualified for the 2022 World Cup, and the South American nation Brazil will be regarded as one of the favourites to lift the trophy in Qatar.

South Korea have participated in each of the last nine World Cups, finishing fourth at the 2002 edition, in addition to reaching the last-16 stage of the 2010 tournament.

The hosts picked up 23 points from their 10 World Cup qualification matches to finish second behind Iran in Group A, but they finished their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to UAE at the end of March.

Paulo Bento’s side are set to play four friendlies over the next couple of weeks, facing Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Egypt, and all four matches will be valuable preparation for the upcoming World Cup.

South Korea have been drawn in Group H in Qatar, which willl see them face Portugal, Ghana and Uruguay, with their competition opener coming against La Celeste on November 24.

Meanwhile, Brazil will be looking to win a sixth World Cup later this year, with Selecao entering the tournament as one of the favourites for the trophy.

Brazil’s last success in this competition came back in 2002, reaching the quarter-finals in three of the last four edictions, in addition to finishing fourth on home turf in 2014.

Tite’s side were very strong in their qualification campaign, winning 14 and drawing three of their 17 matches to finish top of the group.

They have won each of their last three matches 4-0, defeating Paraguay, Chile and Bolivia, while they have not been beaten since losing to Argentina in the Copa America final last July.

The two national teams have previously met on only two occasions in friendly matches in 2013 and 2019, where Brazil have won in both occasions. Brazil have scored five goals without conceding in the process. They now meet for the third time in a friendly game.

Richarlison has scored 13 times in 34 appearances for his country and is set to lead the line, with Neymar off the left.
