Slovenia vs Serbia Match Analysis and Prediction

Slovenia will be looking for their first win in the on-going UEFA Nations League campaign when they welcome Serbia to the Stozice Sports Park in their fourth group match on Sunday night.

Slovenia made a poor start to their UEFA Nations League campaign with the side suffering back-to-back defeats to Sweden (0-2) and Serbia (4-1), before recording a 0-0 draw against Norway last time out. They now sit at the bottom of Group B4, two points behind Sweden in third and five behind Sunday’s opponents Serbia, so they are at risk of an immediate drop back down to the third tier having secured promotion in the last campaign.

Matjaz Kek’s side will therefore desperately need a win to keep their survival chances a boost. But, they will need to be playing on top of their game to take something from the clash.

Meanwhile Serbia did well to get their campaign off after losing 1-0 to Norway in their opening Nations League tie. They have since claimed back-to-back victories against Slovenia (4-1) and Sweden (1-0), and they now sit second with only a point behind leaders Norway.

Dragan Stojkovic’s side will now be hoping to overtake Norway to the top spot and with the leaders taking on Sweden, Serbia could have a chance of climbing on to the summit of the group with a victory on Sunday.

Spirits are high among the Serbia camp and they head to Ljubljana on Sunday having won four of their last five away internationals, keeping three clean sheets in the process and will be looking to keep the juggernaut rolling.
