Both Slovakia and Slovenia have already been eliminated from World Cup qualifications and hence will just be playing for their pride on Thursday when they lock horns at Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava with kickoff at 22:45.
Both sides have made mixed-up qualifying campaigns with Slovakia claiming two wins, four draws and two defeats in their eight matches so far while, Slovenia claimed three wins, a draw and four defeats in their eight matches and both now sit in the middle of Group H standing level on 10 points but Slovakia are above Slovenia due to their higher goal difference.
Both teams will be looking to bounce back as Slovakia are coming off an impressive 2-2 draw against Croatia at away but prior to the draw the Slovaks suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands Russia, while Slovenia are coming off 1-2 defeat to Russia.
Despite having no chances of qualifying, both sides will still be keen to end their campaigns on a high note, with Slovakia looking to build on their draw with Slovakia and keeping their home form where they recorded wins over Russia and Cyprus while, Slovenia will be looking to build on their 4-0 win against Malta at away following a poor away run.
