Slovakia vs Croatia Match Analysis and Prediction

Croatia will be looking to maintain their top spot in Group H standings when they travel to Tehelne Pole Stadium to face Slovakia who are in search of their first win in three games this Saturday with kickoff at 21:45.

Both sides will be looking to return to winning ways as both are will desperate for points in a tight group that only three points separate the top team from the bottom team. Slovakia are coming off a cagey affair that ended in a 1-1 draw against Slovenia at the Stozice Sports Park Stadium with Slovakia first half lead from Robert Bozenik cancelled out by Petar Stojanovic three minutes after halftime.

The draw follows Slovakia’s decimal display in the Euro 2020 where they were eliminated in the group stage having lost their final two games in Group E with a goal difference of -6 as they lost 5-0 to Spain and 1-0 to Sweden.

The draw also added to the argument that Stefan Tarkovic’s side have under-performed during their qualifiers having also been held by the likes of Cyprus and Malta. However, Slovakia remains unbeaten and their 2-1 triumph over Russia gives Tarkovic the feeling that his side is still on the up and it will be fascinating to see how they fire on having been awarded the benefit of playing back-to-back home matches against Croatia and Cyprus.

Meanwhile, Croatia are unbeaten in their last three matches and currently sit at the top of group H with seven points in four matches same as Russia who have less goal difference. Zlatko Dalic’s side continues to set pace in Group H claiming two wins and a draw after their disappointing 1-0 defeat against Slovenia in their opening match.

Despite claiming a point in Moscow in their last game Croatia were somewhat disappointing in their 0-0 draw against Russia as Zlatko’s men lacked the cutting edge in their attack as they normally do.

They head into the match in a disappointing form as they have only managed one win in their last six matches across all competitions, however, despite that, we expect Croatia who are usually dangerous in attack and have enough quality to get past a shaky Slovakian defence.
