Senegal will lock horns with Zimbabwe for another COSAFA Cup Group B fixture on Tuesday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha South Africa with kickoff at 6:00 AM.
Senegal head into the match hoping to record back-to-back wins in this tournament following their 1-0 triumph against Mozambique on Friday. Senegal secured the much needed three points through a Pape Massar Djitte goal in the 63rd minute. The win helped Senegal move into the 3rd positions with three points in two matches only a point below Mozambique who have played three matches.
The Lions of Teranga are favorites in this one as they are in a good form having only lost one match in their last eight matches across all competitions with five wins and two draws. Also, they won in both occasion they played against their opponents.
Zimbabwe started off their campaign slowly and somewhat disappointing as they are yet to record a win in this tournament having drawn 0-0 with Mozambique in their opening fixture followed by the 2-2 draw with Malawi in their second match and the disappointing 2-0 defeat to Namibia in their third clash.
Zimbabwe will now be hoping to register their first victory of the tournament as they look to save themselves from being knocked out of the competition with only two matches remaining. They currently stand in the fourth place in Group B with two points in three matches.
The Warriors head into the match in a poor form having only won one match in their last ten matches across all competition, drawing in three occasions and losing six matches of the ten. Hence the Tuesday’s clash gives them a chance to redeem themselves and also revenge on Senegal.
