Senegal will face Malawi in the last matchday of the group stage of the 2021 COSAFA Cup tournament this Wednesday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium with kickoff at 13:00.
Both teams will be involved in their third group stage match on Tuesday before taking on each other on Wednesday. Senegal are set to take on Zimbabwe while Malawi face the inform Namibia.
Senegal are in this competitions as the guests and started off their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Namibia but quickly bounced back to a 1-0 win against Mozambique that helped them leapfrog to the third position in the Group Standing with three points.
The Lions of Teranga now remain with two matches and they will need to record wins for them to secure a spot in the last four on Friday. No guest nation has ever gone past the group stage in competitions history and Zimbabwe and Malawi stand in the way of Senegal to breaking the run.
Malawi on the other hand find themselves in tough spot as we near the end of group stage. Malawi stated of their 2021 COSAFA cup campaign with a 2-2 draw with Zimbabwe but failed to build on their draw as they lost 2-0 to Mozambique in their second fixture.
Malawi too remains with two games to go and will need all the three points in their remaining matches to better their chances of survival.
