Looking to build up on an impressive win in their opening Serie A fixture, Juventus take on Sampdoria at Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Monday.
A 3-0 victory over Sassuolo set the Bianconeri on course for a fast start to their league campaign, while Sampdoria suffered defeat at home to Atalanta.
Having enjoyed a morale-boosting victory in the first round of the Coppa Italia to begin their campaign, beating Reggina 1-0 earlier this month, Sampdoria hosted Atalanta at Marassi on Serie A’s opening day.
However, after a difficult 2021-22 campaign in which they messed around the relegation, Marco Giampaolo’s side began with yet another defeat, as the fell to a 2-0 defeat to La Dea despite putting up a fair fight.
Signings have also been in short supply, and as the Blucerchiati have previously picked up just a single point from their first two matches across the last four years, the odds are stacked against them on Monday.
Looking to get back to Serie A supremacy this season, Juventus kicked off their quest for a first Scudetto in three years by hosting Sassuolo last Monday.
After they finished fourth for the second straight season back in May, a summer rebuild proceeded, and while Paul Pogba’s comeback has been delayed by a knee injury, fellow signings Angel Di Maria, Bremer and Filip Kostic all made their debut against the Neroverdi.
Di Maria proved instrumental in his side’s 3-0 victory at the Allianz Stadium, providing the opening goal and an assist for Dusan Vlahovic, who bagged a brace to start his personal pursuit of the Capocannoniere crown.
Turning to youth seems ideal given the club’s name, but it will again be the Juventus’ established stars who attempt to steer their side to two wins from two in the 2022-23 Serie A on Monday.

Sampdoria news
Sampdoria have an almost clean bill of health heading into their third competitive game, as long-term absentee Manolo Gabbiadini returned to the squad as an unused substitute against Atalanta.
Francesco Caputo will aim to get off the mark for this campaign, having registered 11 goals and six assists last season.
Juventus news
Having suffered an injury on his debut, Angel Di Maria will sit out the rest of the month at least, joining Federico Chiesa, Paul Pogba and first-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on the sidelines.
However, Adrien Rabiot and Moise Kean are both back from suspension, but defensive mainstay Leonardo Bonucci will be absent on Monday.
Prediction and Odds
Even with some of their top talent sidelined due to injury, Juventus should have more than enough quality to edge off a Sampdoria side which has endured poor form for many months.
The hosts have lost each of their last seven encounters against Allegri’s side, a trend which we expect to continue here.
