Salernitana vs Inter Milan Match Analysis and Prediction

Serie A second fixture of matchday 18 is between Salernitana and Inter Milan, who will lock horns at the Arachi Stadium on Friday night with kickoff at 22:45.

Salernitana have found the Serie A a bit too much for them with club suffering 13 defeats in their 17 league matches while have only won two and drawn two in the process. They are currently rooted at the bottom of the table with just eight points to the name and are four points adrift safety, but we just don’t see them staying in the top flight.

Salernitana are in a poor run of form as the last time the side won was back in October when they over fellow newbies Venezia in a 2-1 win but ever since then Stefano Colantuono’s side have only drawn once in their eight matches across all competitions while suffering defeats in all the remaining matches in the run and are coming off a four-match losing streak.

Salernitana were knocked out of the Coppa Italia in the second round after falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat to fellow Serie A strugglers Genoa with a second half goal from Caleb Ekuban sealing the deal for Genoa. Prior to the defeat Salernitana were coming of three Serie A defeats against Juventus Milan and Fiorentina, conceding eight goals while scoring none in return.

A win for the hosts in this match is a big ask for the relegation outfits who will be just trying to keep the score line as low as possible.

Meanwhile Inter Milan are enjoying the Serie a currently as the reigning champions have finally found their way to the top of the Serie A standings. They have been almost unstoppable this season, tasting defeat in just one of their 17 league matches while have won 12 and drawn four in the process and currently are at top on 40 points with one above Milan.

Inter are in brilliant Serie A form as they have won in all their last five league matches and are coming off a 4-0 thumping of Cagliari last weekend. Inter will be thankful of the win as it saw them overtake city rivals AC Milan to the top spot in Serie A, with their rivals drawing in their match.

The win was also Inter’s response to falling 2-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage finale, but wasn’t too bad for Simone Inzaghi’s side who entered the match having already secured a place in the last 16.

This should be a routine win for Inter who will be looking to keep their momentum going as they aim at setting the pace in the title race.
