Bologna will look to make it back-to-back victories in the Serie A when they travel to Stadio Arechi to take on relegation outfits Salernitana on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Salernitana brought in relegation survival specialist Davide Nicola and the Italian began with a with an impressive 2-2 draw against league leaders AC Milan at home last Saturday, with the Granata turning the game on its head to lead 2-1 after the visitors had took an early lead, but the Rossoneri could not lie down as Ante Rebic equalized from long range later in the clash.
Salernitana have now drawn all their last three Serie A matches which is an improvement for a side which has already suffered 16 defeats from their 24 top-flight matches and with just three wins on the board so far.
The Salerno outfit are still eight points adrift of safety at the foot of table, but the arrival of Nicola and their improved form has engendered hope of a great escape around Arechi, though they will need to turn their draws to wins in order to achieve their ambitions.
Meanwhile Bologna have been struggling for form throughout the campaign with the side recording nine wins, four draws and 12 defeats in their 25 matches to collect 31 points, which have left them sitting in 12th with two points outside the top-half and eight points above the relegation zone.
They managed to return to winning ways in their previous Serie A outing against Spezia, with Marko Arnautovic netting a brace to award his side the three points on Monday night. The win saw Bologna end their five-match winless run in Serie A while it was their second win in their last nine league matches.
The Rossoblu will therefore be looking to build on their victory with another positive result on Saturday as they aim at breaking into the top-half and hopefully maintain the momentum in the next matches which could see them get close to the European places.
