Dundee United make a trip to the Global Energy Stadium to face Ross County in the Scottish Premiership finale on Saturday, with the visitors certain of a Europa League qualification spot as they currently sit fifth in the table.
The hosts have not won any match since the Scottish league was split into the Championship group and Relegation group, but will be hoping to finish on a positive note on the final day of the season this weekend.
Ross County have only scored one goal in their last four matches, coming from Jordan White against Rangers last time out, but that did not stop Ross County from suffering a 4-1 defeat.
Malky Mackay’s side failed to get the grip in that encounter at Ibrox, where the hosts dominated possession and limited the visitors to just one shot on target.
The Staggies have scored more than the two teams above them in the Championship group of the Scottish Premiership, but they have conceded 59 goals in 37 matches, which is the biggest concern.
Meanwhile, Dundee United have the opportunity to leapfrog Motherwell on the final day this weekend, currently sitting just one point behind fourth place with an arguably more favourable match based on form, and the fact that Motherwell’s host Celtic have been crowned champions.
The Terrors could not prevent the Hoops from winning the title on their ground as the game ended all square, but it was a positive point United after defeat against Rangers last weekend.
Tam Courts’ side have not been as effective away from home compared to their points tally collected on their own turf, scoring seven fewer goals on their travels.
The last Scottish Premiership match between these two sides that was played at the Global Energy Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw back in November.
