Finland will look to extend their Group B3 lead when they visit Giulesti in Bucharest to take on Romania in their third round of the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League campaign on Saturday night.
Romania made a poor start to their UEFA Nations League campaign with the side recording back-to back defeats to Montenegro (2-0) and Bosnia (1-0) in their opening two matches. They now sit at the bottom of the group with zero points and need a victory on Saturday to start a chance of challenging for the top spot.
However, they are in a poor form having failed to win any of their four matches across all competitions, suffering three defeats in the run and will need to be absolutely at their best to get anything on Saturday. But they have never lost to Finland since 1970 claiming six victories from their seven meetings and should be confident ahead of the clash.
Finland on the other hand opened their UEFA Nations League with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia & Herzegovina, before claiming a 2-0 win over Montenegro in their following tie on Tuesday. They now lead the group, although they are level on four points with second-placed Bosnia & Herzegovina.
They therefore will be looking for another positive result to continue leading Group 3 of League B, but they will need to be on top of their game to claim a victory here as they have failed to win at Romania in their last four visits.
