Reims and Nice will wrap up their 2021-22 Ligue 1 campaign when they face off at Stade Auguste-Delaune II on Saturday night with kickoff at 22:00.
Reims have not been at their best this season and they head into the final fixture sitting 12th on 46 points two behind 11th-placed Brest and three above Montpellier. They therefore don’t have much to fight for this weekend as they can only finish 11th at best and at worst 13th if Montpellier will harmer Angers more than 10 goals.
They are however coming into the match in a good mood having claimed a 2-1 victory over St-Etienne last time out and they will be confident ahead of the clash. They will be looking to finish the league in a style.
Meanwhile Nice have made a good campaign this season and are still in contention for a European finish as they sit sixth, level on 63 points with fifth-placed Strasbourg and are just a two points behind fourth-paced Rennes.
A positive result on Saturday for nice could therefor see them claim a European finish, but they will hope that both or either Strasbourg and Rennes drop points in their final respective fixtures. Nice are coming off a 3-1 defeat to Lille last time out, which put an end to their three-match winning streak in Ligue 1.
They will therefore be looking to bounce back to winning ways on Saturday as they seek to a possible European finish. They however have drawn their last four league matches with Reims and have failed to beat Oscar Garcia’s side at Stade August- Delaune in their last four visits.
They will therefore need to be at their absolute best to claim all three points on Saturday.
