Livingston will make a trip to face Rangers on Wednesday, with the hosts hoping to continue their impressive season as they will be looking to maintain or extend their four-point gap at the summit of the Scottish Premiership.
Livingston will be looking for a victory to put some pressure on the teams above them, something they have failed to do against their opponents on three occasions this season.
Rangers continued their dominant campaign at the weekend when they sailed through into the next round of the Scottish Cup, recording a 4-0 victory over Stirling Albion.
That was a much-needed result after the Gers drew their first match back in the SPL following the winter break, with Aberdeen frustrating the league leaders.
Despite Ianis Hagi putting them in the lead, Lewis Ferguson’s goal brought the Dons back into the match to earn a point, which was only made worse when Ryan Kent was sent off.
That was the first time the Gers had failed to win in four matches across all competitions, and that was an opportunity for Celtic to close the gap between them.
Meanwhile, Livingston also secured their spot in the next round of the Scottish Cup at the weekend when they defeated fellow SPL side Ross County 1-0.
A penalty from Ayo Obileye was enough to separate the two teams in that match, which extended their unbeaten start to 2022 after they defeated Dundee in their first match back from the winter break.
However, Livingston have struggled when facing Rangers this season, as they were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup by the Gers in a 2-0 scoreline.
These two sides have already had two encounters in the league, and David Martindale’s side have conceded three goals in each of those meetings, something they shall be looking to improve upon this week.

Rangers news
Rangers will be missing the services of Kent due to his red card against Aberdeen, which will force at least one change in the starting XI for Wednesday.
Hagi scored in the match against Aberdeen, but had to be replaced during the Scottish Cup game where he damaged his knee.
Livingston news
Anderson is expected to lead the line for Livingston once again, and after his brace against Dundee, he will be hoping to continue his fine form.
Meanwhile, Matindale is not likely to make a change to his defensive structure for Wednesday’s contest, after they have kept consecutive clean sheets.
Prediction and Odds
Livingston enter this contest with a lot of confidence, after having put together two strong performances to kickstart 2022.
However, Rangers have been good this season and have dominated their opponents three times this season. With their quality, we expect the Gers to take the victory again or pick up a draw.
