Western United vs Wellington Match Analysis & Prediction

17/02/2023 11:45 am

Both Western United and Wellington will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in the Australian A-League when they face off at the GMHBA Stadium in their Matchday 17 tie on Friday morning.
Both sides have not won in their last three league matches, drawing once and losing twice in the process. The defeats have come in the last two fixtures for both teams, with Western United losing 1-0 to Western Sydney, before suffering a 3-2 defeat to Adelaide last time out.
John Aloisi’s side now sit second from bottom on 16 points from 16 games, two points off Melbourne Victory at the bottom of the table. They will be looking to bounce back as they hope to climb up the table, with only three points separating them and ninth-placed Perth Glory.
Wellington, meanwhile, lost 3-1 to Melbourne Victory before going down 2-1 at Macarthur last time out. They now sit sixth on 21 points five behind second-placed Central Coast.
They will be looking to avoid another defeat to half dropping down the table and climb back up closer to the summit. They suffered a 3-2 defeat to their Friday hosts though in the reverse fixture and will need to be on top of their game here.
