Wealdstone vs Oldham Athletic Match Analysis & Prediction
17/01/2023 10:45 pm
Wealdstone will be looking to record successive victories in the National League on Tuesday when the host Oldham Athletic.
While the hosts enter the contest off the back of a victory over Eastleigh, the visitors suffered defeat to Gateshead in the FA Trophy last time out.
Wealdstone sit in ninth place in the National League standings, having picked up 37 points from their 25 matches in the 2022-23 campaign.
Last time out, goals from Nathan Ferguson, Max Kretzschmar and Micah Obiero helped Wealdstone claim a 3-1 victory over Eastleigh.
Stuart Maynard’s side were meant to be in action against Chesterfield last Tuesday, but the game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
All attention will now turn to the challenge of Oldham, which could present the opportunity for the Stones to move as high as sixth in the league if other results in the division fall their way.
Meanwhile, Oldham have endured a poor season in the National League and languish a place above the relegation zone on 24 points.
David Unsworth has struggled to reignite their fortunes over the course, though is unbeaten in his last two matches in charge of the Latics as they eye survival.
Oldham did taste defeat in their FA Trophy game against Gateshead on Saturday, with goals from Kamil Conteh, Robbie Tinkler and Greg Olley cancelling out a Peter Clarke reply.
The visitors have one of the worst away record in the National League, picking up just seven points from a possible 39, and changing this statistic will be Unsworth’s priority as he seeks to put distance between his side and the relegation spots.

Wealdstone Team News
Wealdstone will have to make do without the presence of Micah Obiero on Tuesday, as he picked up a red card in the victory over Eastleigh, so he is suspended.
Corie Andrews could be his replacement in attack, with Simeon Akinola also being another decent option to call upon if needed, with Max Kretzschmar keeping his place in midfield.
