Watford vs Reading Match Analysis & Prediction
09/11/2022 11:00 am
Watford will look to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to Coventry City when they welcome Reading to Vicarage Road on Tuesday.
The Hornets lost their first match of the season last time out and will be keen to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. In contrast, Reading have failed to win any of their last three matches and need an upturn in form if they are to stay in touch with the top two in the Championship table.
Watford lost 1-0 to Coventry City on Saturday, a result that represents the first time since December 2020 that Watford have failed to score in a league home game. They will be confident of claiming all three points when they face Reading on Tuesday after winning three of their last four league meetings with the Royals. With two points separating them from the playoff places, it is possible that Watford could move into the top six if they win and results go their way on Tuesday.
Reading, who have won only one of their last eight games, go into Tuesday’s match against Preston North End on the back of three successive defeats. The Royals looked as though they had rescued a point from their home game against Preston when Lucas Joao equalized from the penalty spot in the 71st minute; unfortunately for Reading, Ched Evans struck twice more to secure a 2-1 victory for Paul Ince’s side. Although Preston are currently struggling for wins, they find themselves in 12th place and only three points off the top of the table.
Watford vs. Reading Head to head
