Watford vs Blackpool Match Analysis & Prediction
14/01/2023 6:00 pm
Watford will host Blackpool in a clash of sides at opposite ends of the Championship table on Saturday.
The hosts remained fourth after an important victory away at Norwich City in their last league outing. At the same time, the visitors find themselves in the bottom three but just a single point adrift of safety and travel on the back of an eye-catching FA Cup win.
Although Watford has experienced a somewhat mixed first half to the term, often failing to establish runs of consistency.
Such an issue has been apparent since their return from the World Cup break. Slaven Bilic’s men returned to action at home to Hull City and only managed to take a point from a disappointing goalless stalemate.
The Hornets set out to build on that result and move closer to Burnley and Sheffield United in the automatic promotion spots.
However, they could not do so, suffering 2-0 defeats at the hands of Millwall and Swansea City, respectively, before again bouncing back impressively in their first game of the new year.
Blackpool will seek to build on an impressive FA Cup win when they travel to face a side that has struggled for form in the Championship.
The Tangerines lost four straight league matches before the World Cup break and have not been able to correct their league form since then, with their winless run now standing at nine matches in England’s second tier.
However, they have managed to take points from contests against Birmingham City, Cardiff City, and Hull City and earn a draw against Sheffield United in their last home game.
Watford vs. Blackpool Head to head
