Walsall vs Accrington Stanley Match Analysis & Prediction
27/02/2024 10:45 pm
Walsall will be looking to continue their strong run of form in League Two when they travel to Poundland Bescot Stadium to face Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.
The hosts have picked up 10 points from their last four matches to rise into ninth place in the League Two standings, while the visitors sit 14th, two points behind their opponents here.
Walsall will enter the midweek contest off the back of an impressive 2-0 victory over Harrogate Town last Saturday, with the win their third in a row and moving them onto 48 points from 33 matches.
Mat Sadler’s side are just three points off the final playoff spot having played a game less, and victory in their rescheduled match on Tuesday will see them break into the playoff positions.
The Saddlers’ home form this season has been relatively strong, picking up 29 points from their 16 matches on home turf, suffering just three defeats in the process.
Meanwhile, Accrington saw their bid to get closer to the playoff spots take a hit after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Crawley Town at the Wham Stadium last time out.
John Coleman’s side are now five points behind seventh-placed Gillingham, who have played a game more and currently occupy the final playoff spot.
Having managed just one win in their last five matches, Accrington are short of confidence but will be looking to rise to the occasion against an opposition they have dominated against.
