Real Madrid will look to end the year on a high as they resume their campaign away to Valladolid at the Estadio Jose Zorilla on Friday night.
The La Liga champions have made a good campaign so far in their defense of the title, but they currently trail Barcelona by two points at the top of the table.
A win on Friday will see them climb to the top of the table, at least until Barcelona play on Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti’s side claimed a 2-1 win over Cadiz before the World Cup and they will look to pick-up from where they left off.
Valladolid, meanwhile, have done well so far, for a newly promoted side. They have managed to claim 17 points from 14 games and currently sit 13th, six points above the relegation zone and only two outside the top half.
Pacheta’s side claimed a crucial confidence-boosting 5-1 away win over Arenas Club Gexto in the second round of the Copa del Rey last week Wednesday. They will seek to build on the win but they face a tough task on Friday and will need to be on top of the game.
