Valencia vs Cadiz Match Analysis & Prediction
06/01/2023 11:00 pm
Having finished 2022 with a defeat, Valencia will be looking to get back to winning ways in La Liga when they play host to Cadiz at Estadio de Mestalla on Friday.
On the other hand, a Cadiz side winless in three straight La Liga matches will be out to end their run of poor form when they get back to league action in the new year.
The hosts enter the contest sitting in 10th place in the league standings on 19 points after 15 matches, six points behind sixth-placeed Real Betis in the European spots.
Valencia suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Villarreal at Estadio de La Ceramica in their last La Liga match on December 31, finishing the year on a low, but will be looking to start the new year on a positive note against opponents sitted in the relegation zone.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side have picked up 13 points from a possible 24 in eight La Liga matches at Estadio de Mestalla this season.
Meanwhile, Cadiz played out a 1-1 draw with Almeria at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla in their last league match to extend their winless run to three, leaving them in 19th place on 12 points.
The Pirates will now be looking to address a poor run of results away from home this season, where they have recorded two draws, four losses and just one win in league away matches.
Sergio Gonzalez’s side currently find themselves on a four-game away winless run, having not won on the road since September 2022 against Real Valladolid.
Cadiz have avoided defeat to Valencia in recent occasions, unbeaten in their last four La Liga matches, with Che looking for their first league win in meetings between the sides since April 2006.
