Udinese vs Hellas Verona Match Analysis & Prediction

30/01/2023 10:45 pm

At the halfway stage of Serie A, Udinese aim to stay within striking distance of the top six on Monday when they host relegation-threatened Hellas Verona.
The Friulani will target a second double over their opponents in Italy’s top flight but arrive at the Dacia Arena having won two of their last three matches to revive hopes of survival.
After winning just three points from their previous six matches, Udinese ended their losing streak last time, as they edged past struggling Sampdoria with a late strike from Kingsley Ehizibue.
As a result, Andrea Sottil’s side posted 28 points from their first 19 fixtures of the 2022-23 campaign – their best tally at the season’s midpoint across the past decade.
Having also beaten Samp in Genoa after a 10-year wait, the Friulani are after successive league victories for the first time since October: that run includes six wins in a row amid a spectacular charge into Serie A’s top four – incidentally, the last of those wins came against Verona.
Since Marco Zaffaroni took charge of Udinese in January, the club has won two of its last three league games. Last week’s 2-0 victory over Lecce meant that the team had won as many matches in the space of a fortnight as it had in its previous 21 attempts.
After losing their first six games under him, Zaffaroni will aim for successive Serie A wins on Monday when Hellas host Bologna.
Udinese vs. Hellas Verona Head to head

Hellas Verona Team News
Ibrahim Sulemana should take Ilic’s place in midfield, while Magnani is likely to deputise for suspended Dawidowicz.
