Tranmere Rovers vs Leyton Orient Match Analysis & Prediction
28/01/2023 6:00 pm
Leyton Orient hopes to extend their lead at the top of League Two when they travel to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday. The O’s are currently two points clear of Stevenage, who are in FA Cup action against Stoke City this weekend, while the Rovers are in 15th place, six points off the playoff positions.
Tranmere Rovers have been inconsistent this season, showing all the hallmarks of a quality team but never managing to put together a solid run. They are rarely brushed aside, but drawing too many games has become an issue.
Despite their league position, the Rovers hold the third-best defensive record in League Two, conceding only 23 goals in 26 matches; however, lately, they have not kept it as tight at the back, keeping only one clean sheet in their last six games.
Indeed, Orient looked impressive on that day and has continued to look solid throughout the campaign.
The O’s boast the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 16 goals. Before their 3-0 loss against Stevenage in their last match, Richie Wellens’s side had conceded just one goal in their last seven matches.
The manager will be hoping that it was just a blip and will expect a response from his side on Saturday.
