Toulouse vs Troyes Match Analysis & Prediction
01/02/2023 9:00 pm
Toulouse will be looking to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to seven matches when they meet Troyes on Wednesday in Ligue 1.
The hosts moved away from any relegation fears at the bottom of the league standings over the past month, while their visitors need to improve on their recent form to maintain their spot outside the bottom four.
Toulouse are unbeaten in 2023, a record that has seen them rise to 12th place in the table and earn a spot in the last-16 stage of the Coupe de France.
Now 11 points ahead of Strasbourg who occupy the highest of the relegations spots, Toulouse are having a stable campaign back at this level after earning promotion from Ligue 2 as champions last season.
The reverse fixture in August was a success for Philippe Montanier’s side, who claimed a 3-0 victory at Stade de L’Aube, and their is a feeling that the Toulouse camp will be confident of matching such a scoreline on Wednesday considering their impressive form.
Troyes have not enjoyed a productive start to the calender year in Ligue 1 or Coupe de France, and need to find some form before they are hunted down by the relegation pack.
A 3-2 victory at Strasbourg started 2-23 off on a positive note, but four matches without a win since – including an exit from the Coupe de France against Lille – has lowered the confidence within the ESTAC fanbase.
Troyes were close to a first win in over three weeks on Saturday when Yasser Larouci put them ahead against Lens, but unfortunately, Adrien Thomasson scored an equaliser for Franck Haise’s side in the 88th minute.
Patrick Kisnorbo’s side have won three and lost seven of their 10 Ligue 1 matches on the road so far, making Troyes the only side in the division without an away draw this season.
Toulouse vs. Troyes Head to head
In the 18 previous meetings between these two sides across all competitions, Toulouse have claimed 10 victories while Troyes have won two, and they have drawn in six. Troyes have scored 13 goals and conceded 32 in the process.
