Torino vs Hellas Verona Match Analysis & Prediction
04/01/2023 4:30 pm
Torino will be looking to strengthen their position in te top half of the standings when they head into Wednesday’s Serie A contest with Hellas Verona.
After the departure of Andrea Belotti, Torino were heading somewhat into the unknown without their long-standing leading forward in their ranks, yet Ivan Juric can be satisfied with how their campaign is progressing.
Sitting ninth and 14 points clear of the relegation zone, Torino are in a position where they can throw caution to the wind in a bid to challenge for European qualification.
Last time out, II Toro earned a 1-1 draw away at Roma, only missing out on all three points through a late equaliser from Nemanja Matic.
However, ahead of the resumption, Torino are in a positive place, and they will xpect to record a fourth victory in six matches against the current worst team in the division.
Meanwhile, Verona now have Marco Zaffaroni in charge after interim manager Salvatore Bocchetti failed to prevent the club from extending their losing run to 10 matches.
None of those defeats have been greater by a two-goal margin, suggesting that a turnaround is not out of question, but their only victory all season came against a Sampdoria side who are in 19th place.
With Cremonese – who also sit in the bottom three – to follow this game, Zaffaroni will appreciate that the biggest matches of his reign may be the two which are coming up.
Although Verona have recorded five successive defeats on their travels, they have not conceded more than twice in any of those games.
