Sunderland play host to Huddersfield Town at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday, with the two teams having plenty to fight for in the closing stages of the Championship season.
The hosts are currently ninth in the table, only two points off the playoffs, while Huddersfield sit 19th and one point clear of the relegation zone.
Sunderland made it successive wins in the Championship on Saturday when the claimed a 2-1 victory over Birmingham, with on-loan Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo scoring the winner in the 75th minute.
The Black Cats are actually unbeaten in their last five matches, but three of those have been draws, sharing the spoils with Luton Town, Burnley and Hull City before back-to-back victories over Cardiff City and Birmingham City put them right back in the race for promotion.
Tony Mowbray’s side are seeking to make it back-to-back promotions following their rise from League One last season, and they will be looking to do a league double over Huddersfield after winning 2-0 in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Huddersfield enter the contest off the back of a 1-0 defeat at Swansea City on Saturday, which ended a five-game unbeaten streak in the Championship.
The Terriers actually finished third in the Championship last season, which led to them making the final of the playoffs, but they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Neil Warnock’s side have the third-worst away record in the league this season, picking up just 16 points on the road, but Sunderland have found it difficult to show their best form at home, only collecting 28 points from 21 matches – a low total considering their position in the table.
