Stoke City vs Stevenage Match Analysis & Prediction

After eliminating Aston Villa in the previous round, Stevenage will make the trip to face Championship side Stoke City on Sunday with an FA Cup round-of-16 spot at stake.
The hosts bet Hartlepool United 3-0 in the third round and come into the contest on the back of a rampant victory over Reading in the Championship last weekend.
Following the cup victory, Stoke City travelled to take on second-placed Sheffield United and suffered a third straight league defeat, ultimately losing 3-1 at Bramall Lane after Nick Powell initially pulled it back to 2-1 late in the first half.
That result left the Potters sitting 19th in the second tier with just 30 points from their opening 27 matches, and they set out to bounce back at home to Reading last Saturday to begin a climb back up the table.
Stoke succeeded in doing so, as Will Smallbone, Tyrese Campbell, Jacob Brown and Dwight Gayle all scored in a 4-0 victory, sending them back up to 18th place as a result with just a six-point gap to the top half.
The Potters will now turn their attention to the FA Cup and aim to avoid an upset at home to fourth-tier opposition on Sunday with the chance to advance to the final 16 for the second straight season.
Meanwhile, Stevenage will aim to cause another upset, having already navigated their way through three rounds to reach this stage of the competition, firstly beating fifth-tier side Gateshead 3-2.
The Boro then travelled to face Kings Lynn Town and claimed a 3-0 victory through a Luke Norris brace and a Jamie Reid goal to set up a difficult third-round tie away at Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
Steve Evans’ side looked set to bow out of the competition as the hosts led 1-0 through Morgan Sanson’s goal in the dying embers, but Reid would convert a penalty in the 88th minute to draw his level before Dean Campbell scored at the beginning of injury time to seal a memorable win and set up a fourth-straight away cup tie.
Now coming into another tough contest as major underdogs, Stevenage will travel with plenty of confidence of their own, having won a crucial game against first-placed Leyton Orient in League Two last weekend to cut the gap to top spot to just two points.

Stevenage Team News
Jamie Reid should again lead the line for Stevenage, having found the net against both Aston Villa and Leyton Orient to take his tally to eight for the season alongside five assists.
Danny Rose and Luke Norris are vying to join him in the front two, while the midfield trio of Alex Gilbey, Jake Reeves and Jordan Roberts should remain unchanged from last weekend.
