Sporting Braga and Nacional meet in the second leg of their Taca de Portugal semi-final tie at the Municipal Stadium of Braga, with the hosts holding a seemingly unassailable 5-0 lead.
Braga were backed to halt Nacional’s cup fairytale in the semi-finals, but not even a 5-0 thrashing was foreseen before that April 12 encounter.
Artur Jorge’s side have claimed seven wins from eight matches across all competitions since their Europa Conference League exit in February, keeping six clean sheets in the unbeaten run.
Regardless of the admirable cup run in the 2022-23 campaign, Nacional’s league form has left much to be desired.
They are just six points clear of the bottom two spots and only two adrift of the relegation playoff position, putting them in danger of relegation to the third tier.
