SonderjyskE vs Copenhagen Match Analysis & Prediction
11/08/2024 7:00 pm
Still yet to record a victory this season, SonderjyskE Fodbold play host to FC Copenhagen at Sydbank Park on Sunday in round four of the 2024-25 Danish Superliga campaign.
SonderjyskE saw their poor start to the season hit a new low as they were on the receiving end of a 4-0 beating against Aarhus in Friday’s encounter between the sides at Ceres Park.
That was a second defeat in three Danish Superliga matches for Thomas Norgaard’s side either side of a 1-1 draw against Lyngby, which yielded their only point to date.
As a result, SonderjyskE currently sit bottom but one in the standings with the league’s joint-worst attacking record – just one goal scored – while only two teams have seen their defences breached on more occasions.
The early struggles for SonderjyskE are unsurprising given their form to end the last campaign, where they failed to win any of their final three matches, before going four games without a win in pre-season.
Meanwhile, Copenhagen saw their 100% record come to a somewhat disappointing end last time out following a 1-1 draw against Randers in Sunday’s encounter at the Parken Stadium.
Having secured seven points from three league matches so far, Jacob Neestrup’s side are currently fifth in the Danish Superliga standings, one of five teams with an unbeaten start to the new campaign.
Copenhagen have carried over their impressive domestic form to the European stage and are 90 minutes away from securing a spot in the UEFA Conference League playoffs, after claiming a narrow first-leg advantage over Ostrava on Wednesday.
With a third title in four years the major goal this season for the visitors who relinquished their crown to Midtjylland last time out, anything less than all three points on Sunday would be deemed less than ideal.
SonderjyskE vs. Copenhagen Head to head
In the previous 50 meetings between these two teams, SonderjyskE have claimed three victories while Copenhagen have won 37, and they have drawn in 10. Copenhagen have scored 111 goals and conceded 48 in the process.
