Solihull Moors vs Aldershot Town Match Analysis & Prediction
17/01/2023 10:45 pm
Solihull Moors will be looking to end a losing streak when they host Aldershot Town in the National League on Tuesday evening.
Solihull is still in the top half of the table despite losing three successive games, but Aldershot is only four points clear of safety after losing their last four matches.
Having missed out on promotion to League Two for the first time in their history via the playoffs in two of the last four campaigns, Solihull appears to have a major job on their hands in terms of giving themselves that opportunity again this time around.
Neal Ardley’s side has gained just five points from their last nine league games, falling to 12th in the table ahead of their midweek match against Aldershot at Damson Park.
A 3-0 defeat to play-off rivals Southend United last time out has only served to distance them further from automatic promotion contenders Wrexham and Dagenham & Redbridge, who are currently five points clear of them in the playoff spots.
In the National League this season, Aldershot Town have struggled to replicate the form that took them to 20th place and a spot in the relegation zone last season.
After replacing Mark Molesley with Ross McNeilly in their dugout, the Shots have struggled, losing four consecutive matches while scoring only one goal.
While they may argue that they were not supposed to win against any of their opponents—four teams currently occupying spots in the top seven—they have beaten Welling United and Leiston in the FA Trophy either side of their poor league form.
Solihull Moors vs. Aldershot Town Head to head

Ardley will be hoping for a positive reaction from his players after their recent poor run of form, with Andrew Dallas hoping to end his goalscoring drought. The 23-year-old has not scored since his side beat Oldham Athletic 2-1 more than one month ago.

Meanwhile, Aldershot Town has one of their own in the form of Inih Effiong, who scored two goals for the Shots in their 4-1 win against Leiston on Saturday.
The 31-year-old journeyman, who scored 13 goals in 40 league games for Woking last season, is performing much more prolifically this season and will move onto double figures with another brace on Tuesday.
