Solihull Moors play host to Aldershot Town at the ARMCO Arena on Tuesday, with both sides looking to put an end to their losing streaks.
While the hosts enter the contest still in the top half of the table despite losing three successive matches, Aldershot are just four points clear of safety having been beaten in each of their last four games.
Solihull have picked up just five points from their last nine league matches, falling to 12th in the table ahead of their midweek game against Aldershot.
Successive defeat to Wrexham across the Christmas period were perhaps to be expected, but their 3-0 defeat to Southend United last time out in the National League was a major blow, with their opponents and Dagenham & Redbridge both moving five points clear of them in the last two playoff spots.
Neal Ardley may not be too concerned by their 2-0 defeat to Barnet in the FA Trophy at the weekend providing thay can bounce back with a win on Tuesday, as their poor form simply must end soon if they are to avoid being cut adrift in mid-table obscurity.
Meanwhile, Aldershot have been flirting with relegation from the National League in recent seasons, finishing 21st in 2018-19 and 20th at the end of the last campaign.
Despite replacing Mark Molesley with Ross McNeilly in their managerial dugout in recent months, little seems to have changed this time around, with four successive defeats leaving them just four points clear of the relegation zone.
Aldershot will almost certanly enter the Tuesday’s contest as underdogs, but they must pick up positive results quickly to avoid the likes of Gateshead and Torquay United in the relegation spots making up ground on them sooner or later.
