Slovakia vs Chile Match Analysis & Prediction

Two teams that will not participate in the 2022 World Cup will face off in an international friendly on Sunday, as Slovakia welcome Chile to Bratislava.
The hosts enter the contest off the back of a 2-2 draw with Montenegro on Thursday, while Chile lost 1-0 to Poland in their last game on Wednesday.
Slovakia have qualified for the World Cup on just previous occasion, competing in the 2010 edition where they reached the last-16 stage of the tournament.
However, Francesco Calzona’s side played in the European Championship in both 2016 and 2020, while they will begin their Euro 2024 qualification campaign against Luxembourg in March and will be determined to get off to the best possible start.
Slovakia have not been victorious since picking up a 1-0 victory over Azerbaijan in the UEFA Nations League on June 10, losing two and drawing two of their last four matches.
Meanwhile, Chile competed in the finals of the 2010 and 2014 World Cup competitions, but they failed to qualify for the tournament in Russia four years ago and will also not feature in Qatar.
Eduardo Berizzo’s side found it difficult in their South American qualification section, picking up just 19 points from 18 matches to leave them seventh in the table, five points behind fifth-placed Peru.
The Red One have not actually won a single game since their 3-2 victory over Bolivia at the start of February, losing seven of their last eight matches across all competitions.
Chile played two friendlies towards the end of September, firstly losing 2-0 to Morocco before playing out a 2-2 draw with Qatar.
The South American nation will head into the contest off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Poland, with Krzysztof Piatek scoring the only goal of the game in the 85th minute.

Slovakia are expected to be without Kristian Vallo, who had to be replaced in the last stages of the first half against Montenegro, so Peter Pekarik could come in for a start.
Robert Bozenik is again expected to lead the line here, with David Duris operating in a wide position.
