Shanghai Port vs Gingdao Hainiu Match Analysis & Prediction

Shanghai Port will be looking to build on their impressive start to the Chinese Super League on Wednesday when they host newly promoted Qingdao Hainiu at SAIC Motor Pudong Arena.
The hosts are currently sitting in third place in the CSL table on 11 points through five matches, two points behind league leaders Shanghai Shenhua and level with second-placed Chengdu Rongcheng.
Shanghai Port earned a point in their last CSL match, drawing 0-0 at Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium against Tianjin Jinmen Tigers, extending their unbeaten start to the season to five games.
Javier Pereira’s side have one win and one draw this season in their two previous CSL matches on home soil.
The hosts are in the midst of a four-game home unbeaten run dating to December 2022 against Shandong Taishan.
Qingdao Hainiu enter the contest of the back of a 3-2 defeat to Chengdu Rongcheng at Chengdu Phoenix Mountain Sports Park, leaving them in 14th; but have now slipped to 15th following Henan’s 1-1 draw with Wuhan Three Towns.
The visitors will be loking for their first victory this season in away league matches, as they have two losses and one draw on their travels.
Antonio Carreno Gomez’s side currently find themselves on a three-game away winless run, as they have not earned a win on the road since April 16 against Shenzhen FC.
Shanghai Port won the last meeting between these two teams, coming out on top 6-1 in the matches against Qingdao Hainiu.
