Saudi Arabia vs Korea Republic Match Analysis & Prediction

12/09/2023 7:30 pm

Saudi Arabia will be looking to end their five-game losing streak when they face South Korea in an international friendly at St James’ Park on Tuesday.
The Green Falcons are now looking to make a statement on the international scene, having recently appointed Roberto Mancini as manager.
Saudi Arabia have lost their last five matches across all competitions, crashing out of the Gulf Cup of Nations through a 2-1 defeat to Oman back in January, following a 2-0 loss against Iraq.
Their poor form has continued into their friendly matches, losing 2-1 to Venezuela and Bolivia in March, before putting in a disappointing performance against Costa Rica at St James Park last time out.
Mancini’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat, recording just two shots on target in the entire game, and they will be hoping to bounce back with a victory at the home of Newcastle United on Tuesday.
South Korea have also struggled in a number of their recent friendlies, losing two and drawing three of their last five matches, following their round-of-16 World Cup exit.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s side have scored just one goal in their last three matches, with that coming in a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to El Salvador back in June, and they were also unable to get a win on the board against Wales last time out.
The Tigers of Asia had the majority of the possession, but they crafted very few clear-cut opportunities, recording just one shot on target in the entire game.
However, history suggests South Korea should stand a better chance on Tuesday, considering they have won two and drawn two of their last four encounters with Saudi Arabia, keeping clean sheets in all four games.

Mancini may make a couple of changes to his side, with Abdullah Al-Hamdan replacing Abdulrahman Ghareeb at right-wing, having been utilised as a substitute in the last game.
The manager may not tinker with his side too much, but Fahad Al-Muwallad is an option at left-wing, and could replace Salem Al-Dawsari.
