Salford City vs Peterborough Match Analysis & Prediction
16/11/2022 10:45 pm
Salford City will welcome Peterborough to the Peninsula Stadium for their FA Cup round-one replay on Wednesday night.
The two sides played out a 0-0 draw in the initial encounter at Peterborough earlier this month and will now be looking to book a place in the second round. Any win for either side will see them go through, but a draw will see them go all the way to the penalty shootouts.
Salford have been impressive in League Two this season, with the side managing to pick up 28 points from 18 games and currently sit ninth, two points off the playoff places.
However, their form has been dipping lately with the side managing to win just one of their last six games across all competitions. A 0-0 draw last time out Wimbledon at home meant they haven’t won any of their last three league fixtures and they will see this FA Cup replay as a crucial chance to build up their confidence again.
They have been struggling at home though, having not won in their last four home fixtures and will have much to amend before the Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Peterborough have been impressive in League One this season, with the side collecting 31 points from 18 games and currently sit fourth in the league standings, seven points behind second-placed Ipswich Town.
They are coming off a 3-2 defeat against Exeter and they will be looking to bounce back quickly as they seek to immediately return to the Championship next season. They will be looking to use the FA Cup replay tie to build-up confidence ahead of their visit to Bristol Rovers at the weekend
